The parents of Jérôme Gaillard, who had confessed to having killed his wife Magali Blandin in 2021 before killing himself, committed suicide themselves in early February. They were going to be tried for complicity in murder.
A sordid affair that never ends. The parents of Jérôme Gaillard, who confessed in 2021 “being the author of the premeditated murder” of his wife Magali Blandin before killing themselves in prison, committed suicide in early February 2023. The news was announced by their lawyers, Gwendoline Tenier and Olivier Pacheu, in a statement sent to AFP. “Monique and Jean Gaillard had made the choice to return the truth to this family drama and had borne on their own, since the suicide of their son Jérôme, the weight of the responsibility (…), wrote the two magistrates. They won’t have been able to live, again.” and are “gone together”.
According West Francethe bodies of the two septuagenarians were discovered on Tuesday at their home in La Turballe (Loire-Atlantique), after Magali Blandin’s parents received a letter from the Gaillards in which they announced their intention to commit suicide. Monique and Jean Gaillard, aged 73 and 76 respectively, were under judicial supervision and were going to be tried for alleged complicity with their son in the murder of Magali Blandin.
Magali Blandin, an incredible affair
As a reminder, the body of Magali Blandin was found on March 19, 2021 in a forest in Boisgervilly, 3 km from the family farm in Montauban-de-Bretagne. After denying any involvement in the murder, her husband confessed in police custody, explaining that he shot her with a baseball bat after waiting for her outside her apartment in Montfort-sur-Meu. It then turned out that his parents were aware of their son’s project, and that the latter had even ordered the murder near “individuals of Georgian nationality“before taking action himself. Indicted for murder of a spouse, Jérôme Gaillard ended his life in October 2021.
