France 3 broadcasts this Saturday evening “Meurtres à Pont-Aven”, its new detective television film carried by the duo Alexandre Brasseur and Astrid Roos which takes us into the rainy landscapes of Brittany.
What is it about ?
Suzanne Saroc, a painter, was burned alive in her studio twenty years ago. An accident whose story will resurface on the occasion of two new homicides in the region, those of two gallery owners. Crimes related to Suzanne’s death which may well turn out to be murder.
The investigation into the death of the gallery owners is led by Marion, Suzanne’s daughter, who experienced the disappearance of her mother as a child, and by Antoine Le Mezec, head of the investigations at the time. It was his first investigation for him.
Would he have missed a crucial element? Would he have concealed it voluntarily? What is the connection between all these cases? What is Sébastien, Marion’s father, medical examiner, also in charge of the investigation into the death of the two gallery owners and husband of Suzanne Saroc, hiding?

Who is it with?
Directed by Stéphane Kappes, who notably worked on La Stagiaire and Le Crime suits him so well, Meurtres à Pont-Aven is directed by Alexandre Brasseur, Astrid Roos and Stéphane Freiss.
The first is known to the general public for his role as Alex Bertrand in the daily soap opera of TF1 Tomorrow belongs to us. As for Stéphane Freiss, he was in the cast of season 4 of Ten percent, but he also appeared in Noces Rouges and Prière d’Enquête.
For her part, Astrid Roos was in the first episode of Escape, and she also starred in the film My Heroine, released last December. Michel Voita (Baron Noir), Naïma Rodric (Such a great sun, Tomorrow belongs to us) and Anne Canovas (More beautiful life) complete the cast of this fiction written by Séverine Jacquet (A beautiful story).

When two gallery owners are found dead, the policewoman Marion Saroc must team up with Antoine Le Mezec, an agent who had investigated 20 years earlier the death of her mother, Suzanne, a painter burned alive in her studio.
They will not be long in wondering if these two businesses would not be related. Did Antoine miss something during his first investigation? And Sébastien, Marion’s father, also a medical examiner, wouldn’t he have hidden things about Suzanne’s death? As the investigation progresses, Marion will begin to uncover dark family secrets that could change everything.
With its original scenario, mixing pictorial art, swindling and survivalism, Meurtres à Pont-Aven manages to captivate us from the first to the last minute. The well-crafted police investigation takes us on false trails after false trails, until a final outcome that is unexpected to say the least, which offers us an emotional moment.
The good chemistry between the different actors allows Meurtres à Pont-Aven to distinguish itself from other fictions of the genre. The young Astrid Roos is particularly convincing in the role of this badass policewoman who tries to understand what happened to her mother, and her chemistry with Stéphane Freiss, who plays the father of her character, is undeniable, making their relationship believable. .
For his part, Alexandre Brasseur is not to be outdone, and forms an excellent duo with Astrid Roos. In short, Meurtres à Pont-Aven is a television film with a well-crafted script, with many twists and turns, which is based on the magnificent rainy landscapes of Finistère.
