(Reuters) – X Corp (formerly Twitter) will file a complaint against the NGO specializing in the fight against disinformation Media Matters for America, its owner Elon Musk said on Saturday after the suspension by large groups of their advertisements on the platform because they were linked, according to Media Matters, to pro-Nazi content.
“X Corp will file a thermonuclear lawsuit against Media Matters and all those who conspired in this fraudulent attack on our company,” the billionaire promised on X, without identifying other parties involved.
“This week, Media Matters for America published a story that completely misrepresents the true experience on message.
IBM announced Thursday that it would immediately suspend all these advertisements on X, some of which were placed, according to Media Matters, alongside publications praising Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Other groups like Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and Comcast did the same on Friday.
Elon Musk publicly endorsed an anti-Semitic post on X on Wednesday claiming that members of the Jewish community harbor hatred against white people. The White House reacted strongly on Friday by accusing the Tesla owner of “abject promotion of anti-Semitic and racist hatred” by giving credence to conspiracy theories.
Since its takeover by Elon Musk in October 2022, Twitter, which became civil rights groups.
