After a rather quiet 2022 edition in announcements, Xiaomi does not intend to disdain the MWC 2023. The manufacturer should present a new smartphone with a Leica branded photo component during the big Barcelona show. This model would not simply be one of the Xiaomi 13 announced in December in China.
An Ultra model for Barcelona?
Xiaomi does not clearly indicate what will be revealed during the Mobile World Congress, but a card that seems official (without having been published by any Xiaomi account) specifies the presence of “new Xiaomi technologies” in the Catalan capital. We can therefore expect an Ultra version of the 13 series – even if it is a bit early – equipped with a 1-inch sensor. Yes, just like the 12S Ultra we picked up last summer.
Unless the Chinese decides to reserve surprises for us. It could just as well be that Xiaomi presents a slightly different smartphone concept, such as the 12S Ultra Concept which allows you to mount real camera lenses. It could also be a new folding smartphone format, which would join the clamshell race and tease another Chinese company: Oppo.
One thing is certain, the presence of the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro at the Iberian fair, probably during a conference scheduled to open the MWC.
