Nacon acquires Midgar Studio, known for Edge of Eternity

The very Frenchy JRPG Edge of Eternity will get a second life this week with the release of its console versions, and obviously, the title has caught the eye of a lot of people, including publishers. We therefore learn that Nakon continues its redemptions since it has just got its hands on the studio at work behind the title, namely Midgar Studio.

One more studio in the Nacon stable

Nacon has indeed announced the acquisition of Midgar Studio, renowned for Edge of Eternity, for an unknown amount. Not long ago, Nacon had also got hold of the Ishtar Games studio, behind The Last Spell and Lakeburg Legacy. Here is what Jeremy Zeler-MauryCEO of the studio, says about this acquisition:

To be creative and at the same time in technical excellence is a challenge which constitutes both a particularity but also the trademark of Midgar Studio. We are very happy to join Nacon who knew how to understand and listen to our needs. Benefiting from their support gives us the opportunity to carry out our ambitions while maintaining great autonomy. »

It is therefore one more studio for Nacon, which may be used to diversify the portfolio of the French publisher with other RPGs if the studio continues in this direction.

Edge of Eternity will be released on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on February 10, while the Switch (cloud) version is expected on February 23.
