Nadine Morano acknowledges that Valérie Pécresse “does not excel” in meetings

Present on Cnews on Wednesday, Valérie Pécresse’s political adviser admitted that her candidate did not excel in speech. A weak point that she put into perspective by recalling that it was not necessarily good speakers who were elected president.

After the difficult meeting of Valérie Pécresse on February 13 in Paris, certain executives of the Republicans played the frankness in the media. This is the case of Nadine Morano on Cnews on Wednesday who recognized that the situation was complicated. “We are having a difficult time. The meeting was a very beautiful moment of communion, a very strong mobilization of our activists, our elected officials. But it is an exercise in which Valérie does not excel, ”she admitted. “They saw that the candidate was enthusiastic but that it was a difficult exercise for her,” acknowledged Valérie Pécresse’s political adviser.

But for her, the question of misogynistic criticism had no place to exist, calling this subject a “false argument”. “She received criticism as one can receive during the presidential campaign,” she analyzed.

She compared her candidate’s meeting with those of Emmanuel Macron in 2017, whom she found “hollow, arch-hollow” even if he was finally elected president. The MEP also cited the counter-example of the Insoumis candidate: “Jean-Luc Mélenchon is a showman, a showman but does not pass the exercise (of the election) because it is not because you are a good orator that you must become president.”

About the “great replacement”, Nadine Morano seemed satisfied with the statement of Valérie Pécresse on Sunday. “She put words on the real ills of our country. I am very happy when she says that France must remain France. She found us too far to the right but today she understood that in France the issue was also civilizational,” she said. “I said for a very long time that there were paper French people because they have a French identity card, they don’t like our country, they are enemies of our country, who are even on our soil,” she added.

Valérie would do well to listen to the advice of Nicolas Sarkozy

Asked about the lack of support from former head of state Nicolas Sarkozy, Nadine Morano defended the idea that her political family “cannot” be brought together without Nicolas Sarkozy. “Valérie Pécresse is in regular contact with him and I think she would do well to listen to his advice. (…) She should not forget that what she was able to do as a minister, it is thanks to this great president of the Vth of our political family, it is Nicolas Sarkozy”, she explained .

Down in the latest polls, the fear remains of seeing LR voters leave alongside Éric Zemmour, a scenario she thinks “possible”. “That’s why the speech must be firm, powerful, seducing confidence vis-à-vis this electorate,” she said.

For the outgoing president, she felt that Emmanuel Macron was already campaigning but that the match had not yet started. “Once he is officially a candidate, that’s when the match will really start, we will be able to talk about his record. The debt is 116% of the GDP, the growth is only due to public money so it is debt for our children and our grandchildren. We can talk about its management of the migration crisis, when you see the 1.2 billion euros devoted to asylum but only 131 million euros, or 10 times less, for the fight against illegal immigration, that shows that it was not his priority”, she denounced.
