Nail slugging is the trend against brittle nails
We love nail designs and color on our nails. Unfortunately, acrylic and other ingredients in nail products cause the skin around the nail bed to dry out quickly and nails to become brittle. That’s over now, because the latest beauty trend on TikTok ensures that the nails stay supple and healthy: nail slugging. The method is all about locking in as much moisture as possible into the nail bed.
After skin slugging revolutionized our care routine, we now also use the method on our nails. The grooming hack is quite simple. In the first step we use any nail oil and apply it to the cuticles. This alone gives our hands moisture.
Now comes the slugging part. That is, the moisture is to be locked on the cuticles. Vaseline is perfect for this. This is applied to the nails over the oil. Not only does this soften cuticles, the slugging trend also helps strengthen our nails, making them less brittle and protecting them from water damage. So definitely try it!
