It will be cold from Sunday. When the breeze blows, it feels even colder. The wind chill effect makes us freeze.

Without wind, a thin cushion of warm air forms on the skin. This air cushion protects the skin from the cold ambient air. The wind always carries away this layer of insulation. This means that heat is constantly being withdrawn from the body. The so-called wind chill effect makes us freeze. It says: The stronger the wind blows, the colder it feels to us. The bise will pick up from Sunday and will be strongest on Monday. Then it says: Brrr.

It’s not just the wind that’s bothering us

The “perceived temperature” is the ambient temperature that our body perceives. With a brisk and cold wind, the perceived temperature is lower than the actual measured temperature. In addition to the wind, there are other factors that influence our perception of temperature: humidity, direct sunlight, level of human activity, body size, weight and clothing.
