Anyone who has to travel a lot at the beginning of the year doesn’t have it easy in Germany at the moment. Strikes on trains, local public transport and airports are disrupting many people’s travel plans.

Now the ver.di union is again calling for a nationwide strike at airports. Between February 28 and March 1, 2024, Lufthansa ground staff will stop work.

Passengers do not have to expect flight cancellations this time, writes ver.di. The strikes should only take place in areas away from passengers. However, Ver.di negotiator Marvin Reschinsky is once again threatening that if Lufthansa “continues with this irresponsible behavior,” future strikes will also affect passengers again.

Ver.di sees only a slight improvement in Lufthansa’s last fare offer, so there is another work stoppage. The union is demanding, among other things, 12.5 percent more wages for Lufthansa ground staff, but at least 500 euros more per month.
