A dry cough is not only annoying during the day, but can also rob you of sleep at night. A dry cough is a dry cough in which no mucus is secreted. It is often a symptom of a cold or flu, but pollen or dust can also be responsible for the dry cough. Herbal teas

Miracle cure honey

Honey can be stirred into tea or spooned straight as a cough suppressant. A very effective remedy for dry coughs is warm milk with honey. Caution: Children under one year old are not allowed to eat or drink honey.

Inhale with sage

Another home remedy for coughing is inhaling. Hot steam moistens the throat and relieves scratching. Inhaling with sage is particularly effective. The medicinal plant contains antimicrobial essential oils, which is why it is particularly popular for colds. The easiest way is to inhale using an inhaler, but a bowl is also sufficient. To do this, fill the bowl with hot water, add a handful of sage leaves (fresh or dried) and breathe in and out the steam deeply with a towel over your head.

Onion juice

One of the oldest home remedies for coughs is onion juice with rock sugar or honey. Onions contain essential oils, flavonoids and sulfur-containing compounds that combine to kill germs and reduce inflammation. To make the natural cough syrup, dice a large onion and drizzle with two to three tablespoons of honey or sugar. Place the mixture in an airtight jar and let it sit in the fridge for several hours or overnight. The onion then releases a juice that can be strained using a sieve. The onion juice can be taken by the spoonful several times a day.
