The two boys don’t notice “that we are separated”

Nazan Eckes and her ex Julian Khol practice the nest model. This means that their sons hardly notice that their parents are separated.
Nazan Eckes (48) and her ex Julian Khol (44) have been organizing the family according to the so-called nest model since their separation. The TV star and the artist, who announced their marriage end in 2022, have two sons together. Their firstborn was born in 2014, child number two in 2016. In the current issue of the magazine “Gala”, Eckes says of her new life: “We are still raising the children in one house. Julian and I take turns on site because we don’t want our children to have to constantly pack bags.”
The 48-year-old adds: “I think if you asked our boys, they wouldn’t really notice that we’re separated. Of course they know. But we still spend a lot of time together with them. That requires discipline from Julian and me. We have to put our egos aside so that we can find consensus.” She is very proud of how they manage that.
“I am truly at peace with myself for the first time”
In the “Gala” interview, Nazan Eckes says of herself: “For the first time, I’m really at peace with myself. I like myself a thousand times more than I used to.” Elsewhere, she explains that she used to be “more controlled by others.” “And by earlier, I really mean just a few years ago. I let others show me the way.” One day, she knew: “I want to radically change my life, because I’m no longer 20 – now or never.”
A lot had changed recently for the presenter, who was under the robodog mask in the current season of the ProSieben show “The Masked Singer” and recently created a collection together with the fashion label “Maison Ju”. In March 2022, her father died from the effects of his Alzheimer’s disease, and the presenter had taken a break from TV to care for him. In mid-October 2022, the separation from her husband Julian Khol became public; the two had married in 2012. In the spring before, Eckes had already announced that she was giving up her magazine “Extra” and ending her exclusive collaboration with RTL.
