How the pricing table works

From espresso to long coffee, Nespresso’s Vertuo range offers recipes for all tastes. The new capsule coffee maker from the Swiss giant, the Pop, retains this attribute and can then make drinks ranging from 40 to 230 ml. The cup holder is height adjustable to adapt to the chosen recipe. Above all, this new Vertuo is available in several colors, six to be exact. Coupled with a more than compact format, 13.6 cm wide, 42.6 cm deep and 25 cm high, this look blends into any interior, especially in small spaces.

Like its predecessors, the Pop incorporates a Centifusion infusion and extraction system. This technology optimizes the extraction of coffee thanks to centrifugal force and thus ensures powerful aromas in XL drinks, which are often too diluted. In detail, the water infiltrates the grind and the capsule rotates to extract the best flavors from the coffee, while creating a thick foam on top of the drink.

The capsule machine is also equipped with an optical reader, already found on previous editions. This reader automatically recognizes the inserted capsule thanks to a barcode and therefore allows the Vertuo Pop to adjust the extraction parameters for each preparation. It is then necessary to unlock the machine, which raises the muzzle to accommodate the capsule. But who says compact coffee maker, says low capacity water tank. The Pop’s can only store 600ml, which means refilling it every two coffees, if you’re a fan of large cups.

You have to turn this mechanism to insert the capsule.

Finally, once the machine is connected, the user can install the Nespresso app and pair their Pop to get advice on use and maintenance. The functionalities stop here: it is not possible to launch your coffee remotely, as other competitors offer.

Available today, the Vertuo Pop is priced around €100. Price to which must be added that of the capsules sold 45 cents each for the least expensive. If Pop brings originality to homes, it seems to go against the current. Indeed, with this new coffee maker, Krups continues its momentum and signs for yet another capsule machine, whose waste is difficult and little recycled. Shame. Remember that in total, only 25% of these aluminum capsules are ultimately recycled.
