- They want to get your payment details with a phishing email.
- You can quickly recognize the scam using a few signs.
As a rule, cybercriminals are extremely subtle in their scams so that you don’t become suspicious and fall into the trap. But today we have a very special phishing email in which the senders were probably a little creative. The message is sent on behalf of Netflix and the destination is your payment information.
The phishing email states that your account has been “suspended” due to supposedly problems with your billing information. A new attempt to validate is underway, but you will still be asked to update your payment details in the meantime via an attached link. If you do not follow this request, your Netflix account will supposedly be completely closed.
But don’t let this empty threat put you under pressure and under no circumstances click on the link. According to consumer advice centers, this leads to a fake Netflix page. All data you provide there will be forwarded to the fraudsters. This means they can easily gain access to your PayPal or bank account.
Although at the end of the text you are assured that this message comes from a trustworthy sender, the opposite is clearly the case here. The layout is the biggest indicator of this. The warning signs, colorful lettering and strange logos seem anything but serious. You should simply move the phishing email to the spam folder without replying.

This Under no circumstances should you comply with the demand.
