While Netflix has announced the cancellation of several animation projects to make up for its loss, Riot Games wants to be reassuring about the future of the Arcane series.

A few days ago, during its financial statement, the SVOD platform netflix announced a massive loss of subscribers for the first quarter of 2022 (which devalued the action by 50 billion dollars), the fault in particular of the closure of its catalog in Russia. To heal his wounds, the publisher therefore announced the scheduled cancellation of several animation projects while waiting for better financial health. Among the many creations in progress, there is season 2 of Arcane, the series on the universe of League of Legends which was a hit worldwide and which quickly secured a sequel.

If many fans were scared, rest assured there should be no cancellation. The series is indeed co-produced by the French studio Fortiche and by the publisher of the game, Riot Games, Netflix being only the original broadcaster. When in doubt, the American studio has also clarified with our colleagues to Dexerto that production was unaffected and everything was on track. For now, the release date is still unknown but Riot has renewed its confidence in Fortiche by investing a little more in the French.

Potentially scheduled for 2023, season 2 will continue to tackle the story of Vi and Jinx, with the champions of the first season but also new roles that will arrive.
