Netflix: are you passionate about the series on The Bettencourt Affair? A film is in preparation!

The documentary series “The Bettencourt Affair: Scandal among the richest woman in the world” is number 1 on Netflix. If this story interests you, good news: a film could see the light of day.

The Liliane Bettencourt affair, heiress to the L’Oréal family, hit the headlines in 2007 and has never really left the minds of the French. The proof: the documentary series dedicated to the scandal ranked number one on the Netflix top in just one day – AlloCiné strongly recommends it. It must be admitted that many elements of this story are enough to excite the public.

After the documentary format, the affair could soon be adapted into fiction. According to Vanity Fair, a film directed by journalist and filmmaker Thierry Klifa is in preparation. Entitled The Richest Woman in the World, this adaptation would focus on “the relationship between a sixty-year-old billionaire and a 27-year-old writer-photographer“.

The figure of the“writer-photographer” is necessarily inspired by François-Marie Banier who received, between 1997 and 2007, no less than 917 million euros from the heiress. This relationship of influence is one of the major points mentioned in the series documentary.

If we are to believe this short synopsis, Thierry Klifa’s film will take many liberties. Several names are already attached to the project: Isabelle Huppert, in the role of the billionaire, Benjamin Voisin, in that of the writer-photographer, Marina Foïs in the role of the heiress’s daughter, but also André Dussollier, Nicolas Duvauchelle and Panayotis Pascot.

In his article dating from September 29Vanity Fair specifies that the project is currently being financed and that filming is planned for the summer of 2024.
