Netflix has just confirmed the upcoming arrival of the sequel to one of its most notable films. A huge success, which turned the stomachs of millions of viewers.
Netflix is a gigantic platform where you can find a whole bunch of films, series, documentaries and other various programs. There is something for all tastes and for all genres. Generally, we point the finger at the SVOD platform, accusing it of being ultra-smooth and of shaping its films to its will. But there are nevertheless feature films that are particularly shocking, uncompromising and which follow through on their ideas. One of them will come back soon, for better but especially for worse.
Netflix confirms the return of one of its most shocking films
In 2019, an illustrious unknown, at least in our country, a certain Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, proposed his appalling vision of criticism of society, the system, abuse and everything you want. For this, the Spanish director dives into realistic horror, claustrophobic terror and the all-too-believable absurd and takes us out The platform. A feature film which makes us follow the daily life of a pair of prisoners locked in a sort of multi-story complex. In the center of these cells stacked on top of each other, a hole through which descends a platform filled with food and drink. The inmates highest in the chain get to eat before the others while those at the bottom of the hole only get the leftovers. A real fight for survival begins, but not only that…
The platform is one of the most shocking feature films on Netflix, and certainly also one of the most accomplished although it is not for everyone. Hailed by critics, the Spanish feature film is also one of Netflix’s biggest hits. He particularly took advantage of the buzz during the period of confinement. A godsend (so to speak) which ensured a sequel. Yes, I hope you are still hungry since Platform 2 will indeed arrive this year, it is confirmed by Netflix. $

We knew that a sequel to the film was on the way, but we didn’t have any details yet. Netflix has just confirmed that this will happen in 2024, but no date has yet been given. We don’t yet know what will be discussed in this second part or even who will be in the casting. So far, Netflix has only shared with us a few images in May 2023 with a sentence that already sets the tone:
