Long before the chaotic launch of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Project had announced for 2022 an animated series Cyberpunk: Edge Runners produced by Studio Trigger (kill la kill, Promare) in destination to netflix. Since then, it was dead calm, until this night with the third day of the Geek Week 2022. To begin with, it is his very first teaser which was broadcast against the background of the theme Edgerunners composed by PT Adamczykwhich makes us see all the colors, NightCity obligatory.
This reinterpretation of the game will tell us an independent story in 10 episodes, centered on two protagonists baptized David and Lucyincluding an illustration by character designer and series animator Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia, BNA: Brand New Animal) is visible below. The series will therefore highlight a street kid trying to survive and having everything to lose, becoming a edgerunneran outlaw mercenary also called cyberpunk. CD Project RED produced the series, which began development in 2018, and gave the role of showrunner and executive producer to Rafał Jaki, while Satoru Homma, Bartosz Sztybor and Saya Elder serve as producers. On the side of Studio Triggerwe find the director Hiroyuki Imaishi (gurren lagann, kill la kill, Promare) and creative director Hiromi Wakabayashi (kill la kill), while the screenplay adaptation was entrusted to Yoshiki Usa (the series of GRIDMAN UNIVERSE, Promare) and Masahiko Otsuka (the episode The Elder of Star Wars: Visions). lovers of silent Hill they will be able to revel in the musical compositions of Akira Yamaoka!

Cyberpunk: Edge Runners is expected on netflix in September 2022, the wait won’t be very long. As for Cyberpunk 2077it is still sold on Amazon at the price of €30.16.
