The Tinder scammer, available on Netflix, is generating a lot of debate. The crook Shimon Hayut who called himself Simon Leviev outrages Internet users, but not only.

The documentary The Tinder Scammermade by the creators of don’t fuck with cats, tells the story of Shimon Hayut. He called himself Simon Leviev by impersonating the son of a Russian-Israeli billionaire on Tinder.

The film highlights the testimony of three women, Pernilla, Cecilie and Ayleen who were defrauded by the young man. They explain having lived a perfect idyll until the day when he pretended to be in danger of death by claiming enormous sums of money from them. Shimon Hayut hired actors to play his collaborators and security guards. He had also officially changed his last name on his identity papers.

A lot of mystery still surrounds this very mysterious affair. The three victims who testified during this documentary are still trying today to repay their debts.

On social networks, the documentary has not gone unnoticed since its broadcast on Netflix. Internet users even had virulent remarks towards the victims of Shimon Hayut, judging them naive and easily manipulated.

Indeed, it is important to remember that the women who met Shimon Hayut were manipulated and are in no way responsible. Pernilla, Cecilie and Ayleen are victims who, today, are still trying to rebuild themselves psychologically, but also financially, after meeting Shimon Hayut.

Tinder had, moreover, taken strict measures to prevent the scammer from raging again. “We have conducted internal investigations and can confirm that Simon Leviev is no longer active on Tinder under any of his known handles”the company’s executives told variety. He would therefore now be banned from the dating application. As for Pernilla, Cecilie and Ayleen, they filed a complaint against him with the European Court of Justice and Interpol.
