Netflix has unveiled the first unseen images of the documentary on Pamela Anderson. A work approved by the star that she will however not look at.
Announced in March 2022, the Netflix documentary on Pamela Anderson is unveiled with new and exclusive images of the actress. Entitled Pamela, a love story, this film directed by Ryan White (The Keepers) will allow the former star of Alerte à Malibu to tell his truth and his story, often diverted in the media.
This documentary, which took years to develop, will also be a kind of response to the series Pam & Tommy, released this year in France on Disney+, directed and produced without the agreement of Pamela Anderson. This show returned more particularly to his tumultuous relationship with his former companion Tommy Lee and the scandal of their sextape stolen and distributed without their consent in the 1990s.
The star did not watch the series and focused on the exclusive documentary acquired by Netflix, which promises to reveal never-before-seen archive footage and personal diaries, endorsed by Pamela Anderson herself. The platform has also unveiled a first preview of the film with exclusive visuals.
Pamela, a love story is scheduled for Netflix on January 31, 2023. Although this documentary has been validated by the star, she confided in an email to Vanity Fair that she did not plan to watch it:
“The documentary, I have not seen it and have no intention of seeing it. I have given full access to my archives and logs, and I hope that through full transparency this will have meaningful to someone.”
It was thanks to her son Brandon, who also produced the documentary, that Pamela Anderson was convinced to tell her story in her own words and images: “Brandon can convince me to do anything with his sincere heart and a fierceness that only a son can have. He wanted to tell my story, authentically and without distortion.”
As its title suggests, Pamela, a love story will have love as its major theme, through her personal relationships with men and also her maternal role, which is close to her heart. Pamela fans will have to wait until January 31 to discover this exclusive documentary on Netflix.
