Second animated feature film by disney released in 1940, Pinocchio popularized the children’s story The Adventures of Pinocchiowritten by Carlo Collodi in 1881. Chance of the calendar, the franchise now in the public domain will be entitled to 2 adaptations on the biggest video-on-demand services in 2022.

Disney+ so prepare the version live action of Pinocchio by Robert Zemeckis, coming September 8, 2022, while netflix is producing a new animated film which he presents as Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, to avoid confusion. The first trailer of “Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro” (co-directed with Mark Gustafson) has just been unveiled, and although it will be possible to mix the 2 feature films because of their name, they have nothing to do with the substance as well as the form.
As expected, we have the right to a musical and fantastic adventure in stop-motion about the famous puppet that will come to life to “appease the heart of a woodcarver named Geppetto”. The artistic direction is totally different from what was done disney and will be served by a cast of top-notch voice actors, including Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Gregory Mann, Ron Perlman, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, Christoph Waltz and Tilda Swinton.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio does not yet have a specific release date, but it will be released in December 2022 exclusively on netflix.
