Netflix increases prices by up to 22%

Take a good look at this price list. This is the last time you will see her since Netflix has just announced an increase in its subscription prices, giving some explanations: “While we have generally paused price increases as we roll out paid sharing, our overall approach remains the same: a range of prices and plans to meet a wide range of needs, and as “We’re bringing more value to our members, occasionally asking them to pay a little more. Starting today, we’re adjusting prices in the US, UK and France.”

The price increase does not concern the “Standard” plans which remain at 5.99 euros and 13.49 euros respectively. On the other hand, the Essential plan jumps by 22% to 10.99 euros and the Premium plan increases by 11% to reach 19.99 euros. To defend itself and minimize its decision, Netflix explains: “Our starting price is extremely competitive with other streamers and, at $6.99 per month in the US, for example, it is well below the average movie ticket price.”

This decision is an invitation to switch to the offer with advertising, which according to Netflix, attracted around 30% of new subscribers in the 12 countries which offer the plan with advertising.
