Netflix: one of the most viewed films in 2019 will have a sequel!

Three years after the release of Banlieusards, Kery James returns to the front of the stage to announce the sequel, still in collaboration with Netflix.

It was one of the most viewed films of 2019 on Netflix. With Banlieusards, rapper Kery James and his accomplice Leïla Sy gave us a committed film centered on three brothers from a sensitive suburb of the Paris region: Soulaymaan, a student lawyer in Paris, Demba, the eldest who lives to the rhythm of traffic and the street, and their little brother Noumouké who is still looking for his way.

Three years later, the two directors therefore return with an unexpected sequel. The announcement was made on social media via a video accompanied by the title Commuters of the rapper, who gave his name to the film.

The two companions have already started filming which will take place once again in Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) in the city of Bois-l’Abbé. We don’t yet know what this sequel will be about but it will most likely take place following the first film.

Spoiler alert! At the end of Banlieusards, the character of Demba, played James himself, is shot in front of his brother and his friend (Dali Benssalah).
