(Boursier.com) — netflix the American streaming giant, has reportedly appointed two advertising executives from Snap to develop a global advertising strategy, as it works on an ad-supported subscription service, says AdAge, which understands that Jeremi Gorman will join Netflix as president of global advertising, and Peter Naylor as vice -president of advertising sales. The two specialists would take up their duties in September. According to the article, both Gorman and Naylor would join Netflix from Snap, where they currently serve as Chief Commercial Officer and Vice President of Americas, respectively.

Recall that Netflix has previously denied rumors about supposed ad-supported discount subscription plans. A representative of the group, quoted by the New York Post, indicated that the company was only at the initial stage of considering a lower priced offer supported by the “ad.” In other words, no decision has yet been made on the subject, and it would only be speculation at this stage.

Bloomberg had previously clarified that the group, victim of a recent erosion of subscriptions after an exceptional pandemic period from the point of view of activity, was considering a subscription formula at $7-9 monthly with advertising. Bloomberg quoted people familiar with the matter as saying the purported offering would be offered in six markets during the fourth quarter.
