The gaming branch of netflix intends to go into overdrive this year, with no less than forty games on the program.
Even though a study reported in August that only 1% of subscribers take advantage of this part of this service, this did not dampen the platform’s great ambitions in this market.
The Netflix Gaming family will grow a lot
Launched in November 2021, Netflix’s gaming division currently has 55 games that can be downloaded by subscribers to the platform at no additional cost (at least for now). This year, that gaming count will practically double from single to double, according to a freshly published blog post.
” This year, we will continue to grow our portfolio with new games every month. Subscribers will discover indie gems, award-winning hits, RPGs, narrative adventures, puzzle games, among many other types of games. And we work with the best studios in this sense “, tells us Netflix.
All in all, 40 games will therefore join the Netflix Gaming family this year, including 16 games developed in-house, most likely related to series and films exclusive to the platform.
A frantic program
If the blog article does not specify anything more about these homemade titles, it has not been stingy with announcements of other games. Hightower, a post-apocalyptic third-person adventure game set in a flooded Earth, is available today. On March 28, Netflix will also host Terra Nilea solid and original management game in which we are in charge of making the Earth greener and more ecological.
After the continuation of Unknown SoldiersUbisoft has again worked with Netflix to offer Mighty Quest: Rogue Palacea platform-exclusive rogue-lite expected on April 18.
Besides the 40 games expected this year, Netflix is still keeping a few cartridges for 2024, such as the popular mobile game series Monument Valley 1 & 2. The platform will certainly not fail to split another blog article to say more about its vast plans vis-à-vis its gaming branch.
