Netflix: There is no longer a free trial month in Germany

If you are not yet a Netflix customer, you can no longer test the streaming giant's offer in Germany for free.

German film and series fans who do not yet have a Netflix subscription have been able to try the streaming service for one month free of charge. This offer is no longer available to interested parties.

On the homepage of the streaming giant, the reference to a free trial month has disappeared. The assumption is confirmed in the "Help Center". "A free trial period is not available," it says among other things.

That costs a subscription

Netflix currently has three different subscription offers. The cheapest "basic" subscription is usually 7.99 euros per month, but users can only play films and series in low SD quality. From the "Standard" subscription for 11.99 euros per month, HD quality is also available. Ultra HD is only supported in the "Premium" subscription for 15.99 euros per month. In addition, depending on the subscription, the number of devices on which content can be played simultaneously also differs.

Due to the temporary VAT reduction in Germany, all three subscriptions are currently a little cheaper at 7.79 euros, 11.69 euros and 15.59 euros. In contrast, Austrian users will have to dig deeper into their pockets in the future. As the daily newspaper "Der Standard" recently reported on its homepage, the "basic" tariff remains the same, the "standard" subscription costs 12.99 euros per month and the "premium" subscription is available for 17.99 euros per month.
