Posted on August 23 on Netflix, a French series won the hearts of subscribers to the platform. It now occupies third place on the podium of the most watched series in France. However, it had not found its audience last May, when it was broadcast on France 2.

It’s a success that no one expected for this fall. The French series Bardot, which recounts the young years of the iconic Brigitte Bardot, is currently a hit on Netflix. The biopic had been broadcast last May on France 2 but had not really found its audience…

Only 2 million viewers for this very ambitious fiction co-directed by Danièle and Christopher Thompson. France Télévisions had however seen things big with a colossal budget, 10 million euros for six 52-minute episodes, but also a very talented actress: Julia de Nunez, the spitting image of Bardot.

Brigitte Bardot totally against this biopic about her life

It is finally on Netflix that the series finds a second wind. It is currently on the podium of the most watched content in France… behind Who is Erin Carter? and the Scandinavian series Ragnarok… So proof that the Bardot myth still fascinates, even if the main interested party was totally against the project. “The only thing that matters is my real life with me in it. And not bullshit biopics,” Brigitte Bardot said in an interview with JDD. Not sure that the star has changed his mind since the arrival of the series on Netflix…
