On May 24, “J. Lo” will be showing in Atlas, a new original science fiction production. The first images revealed by Netflix are very ambitious, punctuated by imposing action scenes in the air and an avalanche of special effects.

For this project, Jennifer Lopez will face a well-known enemy of recent blockbusters: artificial intelligence. Here is the official synopsis:

A brilliant data analyst, Atlas Shepherd is misanthropic and totally distrustful of artificial intelligence. As she embarks on a mission to capture a rebel robot, she realizes that she has dealt with this mysterious machine before. When the mission does not go as planned, all that remains for Atlas is to finally trust the AI ​​if it wants to save the future of humanity…

Alongside the actress, we will find Simu Liu, the star of Shang-Chi and Barbie, but also Sterling K. Bown, recently nominated for an Oscar for his performance in the film American Fiction with Jeffrey Wright.

As a reminder, The Mother by Niki Caro has become one of the biggest successes on the Netflix platform. In just six weeks, the film had been viewed by more than 127 million households. According to Varietyanalysts at LightShed Partners estimate the number of unique viewers at 250 million.

After The Mother and Atlas, Jennifer Lopez’s next Netflix release should be The Cipher, an adaptation of the eponymous novel by Isabella Maldonado centered on the hunt for a serial killer by an FBI agent.
