Netflix: Wednesday makes Dahmer bite the dust

Three weeks after its release, “Wednesday” becomes the third most viewed series of all time on Netflix.

It took little time for Wednesday to enter the ranking of the most viewed series in Netflix history. Released on November 23, the fiction signed in part by Tim Burton has already accumulated 1.02 billion hours of viewing. It exceeds Dahmer, the controversial series by Ryan Murphy, which had won this record at the beginning of December.

If Squid Game (1.65 billion) and season 4 of Stranger Things (1.35 billion) retain the first two places, the success of Wednesday remains very impressive. In just a few days, the series has become ubiquitous on social media.

Many challenges have emerged, especially on the TikTok platform where Internet users have had fun reproducing the dance – now emblematic – of episode 4. The enthusiasm is such that even Lady Gaga, followed by millions of people, is filmed using Jenna Ortega’s choreography.

As of now, Netflix has yet to renew Wednesday for a season 2. Looking at the numbers, it’s only a matter of time before the platform confirms a sequel. Series creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough say they already have plans for a third and fourth season.

Wednesday is available on Netflix.
