The government decided on Saturday to postpone the alleviations for open-air areas – including zoos, amusement parks and sports facilities – envisaged as part of an opening plan from May 11. As the ANP news agency reported, it should be checked whether they are possible from May 18.
The government followed the advice of experts who pointed to an increase in the number of corona patients in hospitals. The seven-day incidence in the Netherlands was recently well over 300 and was thus about twice as high as in Germany.
The Netherlands eased the first measures since the strict lockdown in December in the middle of the week. Among other things, the evening curfew has been abolished, shops are again allowed to receive customers without an appointment and restaurants in the outdoor area are again allowed to serve guests under certain conditions.
