AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam in the Netherlands announced on Friday that it will cut daily passenger traffic by 18% until at least October 31 due to a staff shortage.

“This decision is bad news for passengers and for airlines,” airport management said in a statement.

“The reduction is necessary to ensure the safety of our passengers and employees,” she continues.

The Dutch company KLM, a subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group, said it wanted the situation at Schiphol to be resolved “quickly and efficiently”.
