new affordable… and promising intras

OnePlus has announced its Buds 3 in China. Positioned at the entry level, these in-ear headphones with active noise reduction benefit from advantageous specifications. We take stock.

OnePlus launched two interesting new products in China this January 4: its new Ace 3, an affordable smartphone, accompanied by the Buds 3. These in-ear and true-wireless headphones are positioned at the entry level for the Chinese market, where they will be marketed from January 8, with a price announced on site at 500 yuan, or 57 euros excluding taxes. However, we do not know at this stage whether they will reach the West… and our latitudes.

Either way, these new headphones can boast a dual-driver design, for presumably good audio quality, and decent active noise reduction, with noise cancellation up to 49 dB. . The whole set is also intended to be comfortable to wear thanks to thin and light headphones, which should (hopefully in any case) succeed in being forgotten once positioned in the ears.

The Buds 3, a potential good surprise from OnePlus

In detail, we learn that several levels of ANC are current. The first filter surrounding noise up to 10 dB and 20 dB respectively. The most significant noise reduction, however, rises to 49 dB without any other intermediate level. OnePlus also mentions an intelligent mode allowing the ANC to be adjusted automatically depending on the environment.

In terms of the headphones themselves, there are three microphones for calls, but also for the proper functioning of the ANC. These are powered by AI to allow better audio quality during voice calls. OnePlus otherwise promises IP55 certification for resistance to sweat and dust, while each earphone weighs only 4.8 grams.

On the power side, there is a 59 Wh battery in each earphone, while the case integrates a 520 mAh battery. In total, OnePlus promises a total autonomy of up to 44 hours (with the charging case).
