While Apple may not launch a new iPad this year, the California firm also doesn’t seem to be in a rush to offer new updates for its audio devices.
When Apple takes its time
Every year, Apple has accustomed us (like the vast majority of manufacturers) to bringing new iterations of its iPhones to market. But obviously, not all Apple brand products get the same treatment. This is particularly the case with its HomePod, the first generation of which was launched in February 2018 and which will have waited more than 4 years before welcoming a successor.
Launched for the very first time in 2016, the AirPods are also entitled to less regular hardware updates. And, although these headphones are very popular, it is clear that their price is not within reach of all budgets. This is why the Cupertino company plans to launch “AirPods Lite” on the market, the price of which would be less than 100 euros (about 99 dollars).
AirPods Max 2 and AirPods Lite: not before 2025?
Last year, Apple released its new line of AirPods Pro. On the other hand, since November 2020, the AirPods Max have not been renewed. This high-end Bluetooth headset with an explosive design had established itself as an excellent quality device despite its weight. Anyway, according to the statements of the well-informed Ming-Chi Kuo, the AirPods Max 2 would be shipped between the end of next year and the first half of 2025. That is, all the same, a wait of at least 4 years since the release of the first model…
Having renewed several of its audio devices in recent months, Apple would obviously like to take its time before offering other hardware updates. Indeed, the HomePod mini 2 and the entry-level AirPods would not see the light of day before the end of 2024.
