New board – Tyrolean Hans Reisch becomes head of Spar Austria

The grandson of the company founder, who has been on the board since 2001, is now taking over command. The previous deputy is now taking over from Fritz Poppmeier, who is retiring.

The Austrian retail chain Spar is under new management. As was announced on Tuesday, the Supervisory Board has appointed KR Hans K. Reisch (61) as the new CEO of Spar AG with immediate effect. The Kufsteiner and grandson of Spar founder Hans F. Reisch has been a member of the board of Spar Austria since 2001. As the previous vice-chairman of the board, he succeeds Mag. Fritz Poppmeier, who is withdrawing from this position for health reasons. The board is reduced from five to four people: Mag. Markus Kaser and Mag. Paul continue to work on the management board Klotz and Mag. Marcus Wild. The grandfather of the current Spar boss founded the retail chain in 1954 together with 100 grocers from Tyrol and Salzburg. The Spar Group emerged from this in 1970.
