In the new episode of “Einwurf”, the crown"-Sports podcast, tells athlete Sabine Sonnleitner about obstacle courses.
It all started with football: In her childhood, Sabine Sonnleitner loved playing football with her cousin and friends. Years later, when she was playing at the women’s club SV Donau, she brought a colleague to the obstacle course. And since then Sonnleiner has been enthusiastic: “It just grabbed me and I was immediately hooked.” Although she admits in the new “throw-ins” sequence: “In some obstacle courses – such as the Spartan Race – you have to do a little have a loss to participate. “
The fascination of extreme obstacle courses
Nevertheless, Sonnleitner is always at the forefront – so what is behind the fascination of extreme obstacle courses? This is simply explained: “It gives you so much strength when you bring an obstacle behind you where you thought beforehand: How am I supposed to do it ?!”
Sonnleitner, who is also a member of the K9 dog relay, qualified for the European obstacle course championship in 2019 – due to the corona pandemic, however, the 2020 competition had to be canceled and rescheduled this year: “I actually won my age group, I would have really not thought. “
