iMac fans must continue to be patient. According to Mark Gurman, there will be no new models in 2022. Done isn’t the same as postponed – and the wait for the iMac and iMac Pro could well be worth it.
New iMac (Pro) should not be released until 2023
Anyone who has already set aside money for a new iMac will probably have a little more time to change their minds. According to Mark Gurman and his well-known “Power On” newsletter at Bloomberg, then there will be nothing more with new models in the current year. Although some Macs with an M2 chip can be expected in 2022, a new iMac is apparently not included (source: AppleInsider).
An iMac upgrade is not expected until 2023, says Gurman. Apple may even decide to do without the M2 chip in the next iMac (Pro). Instead, there could be an iMac (Pro) with the next year even more powerful M3 from Apple give. An M3 chip is “already in the works” and is currently being tested, they say.
Gurman says it’s likely that an iMac Pro will come, although he says it won’t appear “anytime soon”. Apple may rise only in autumn 2023 directly from the M1 to the rumored M3. According to previous rumours, there should be a new edition of the model with a mini LED display in 2022.

Lots of M2 Macs to be expected this summer
In the coming months it will some new Macs with Apple’s M2 chip give. These could appear as early as the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). According to the plans, we can expect a MacBook Air, a MacBook Pro (13 inch) and a Mac mini.
At the end of the year or maybe in the spring of 2023 there will be one MacBook Pro (14 and 16 inch) including the M2 Pro or M2 Max. The Mac Pro, the last remaining Intel model, is said to use two combined M2 Ultra chips.
