While there are still several months until the Intel Arc graphics cards hit the market, photos of a prototype have been revealed, giving some hints about the upcoming GPU.
Our colleagues from VideoCardz were able to recover snapshots of the Intel Arc graphics card and published some photos on their site. This all-black prototype looks a lot like the latest images that have already leaked, but it’s hard to say if it’s a definitive model or if the design will evolve, especially in terms of cooling.
DisplyPort 2.0?
We see on the side of the DisplayPort, which will probably be the first of its kind to take advantage of the 2.0 standard. The latter, announced in 2019, will offer a serious gain in bandwidth, up to nearly 80 Gb / s against 32 Gb / s currently with 1.4. In the idea, this would make it possible to supply 4K screens refreshed at 240 Hz, provided you have a sufficiently powerful GPU, which will probably not be for now.
No PCIe 5 yet
Also, the card only reveals classic 6 and 8 pin connectors for the power supply, and therefore does not support the recent PCIe 5 connector, which in theory offers a power flow capped at a whopping 600 W on a single connector.
