The Tesla Cybertruck must finally be revealed at the end of the month, after several postponements since the end of 2021. In recent days, new information has been circulating on its dimensions and weight.

The Tesla Cybertruck is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated electric vehicles of the end of 2023. After several delays in putting it into production and, taking into account the admission of Elon Musk himself on the difficulties manufacturing such a vehicle, the electric pick-up from the Texan manufacturer will soon hit the roads.

According to the American Youtuber TFLV, the latter would have received information from a source from Tesla – who refuses to be named, but who reveals certain information on the dimensions and weight of the vehicle.

Built for the great American spaces

While we can’t confirm the accuracy of the revealed specs and don’t know where TFLEV got them from, they seem pretty consistent with what we already knew about the pickup.

With a total length of 5.64 meters and a width of 2.03 meters, the Cybertruck is positioned in the middle of the American pick-up segment. On the other hand, its height of 1.79 meters is lower than that of its traditional competitors, which could have a positive influence on its dynamism and maneuverability. Note an immense wheelbase of 3.63 meters which could, for its part, be beneficial to habitability.

In addition, its bed offers generous loading space with a length of more than 1.85 meters and a width of 1.29 meters. This would accommodate up to 503 kg of cargo. The YouTuber also points out that the Frunk, that is to say the trunk at the front of the vehicle, would only offer 200 liters of volume and would only support 190 kg of load while one of the most serious competitors of the Cybertruck, the Dodge RAM 1500 REV, offers a 424-liter front trunk with a payload of 1,225 kilos.

Large towing capacity and not so high weight

But it is not the most important. Indeed, the latest information available on Elon Musk’s pick-up reported a weight of more than 3,500 kg, which condemned, in Europe at least, drivers with only a B license. In view of the information revealed by TFLEV the weight of the Tesla Cybertruck would actually be 3,025 kg for the two-motor model and 3,126 kg for the three-motor model.

Measures which would make it directly accessible (legally) to all holders of License B. There would therefore be no need for a heavy goods vehicle license to drive the Cybertruck in France. Finally, its towing capacity betrays its utilitarian intentions since this electric pick-up would be capable of towing up to 4,990 kg of payload. Not bad.

Unfortunately, we do not have any other information regarding its power, autonomy and charging capacity. The YouTuber TFLEV, however, mentions several electrical outlets in the dumpster with standard 110 volt and 220 volt outlets, but also a NEMA 14-50 outlet which suggests an output power of 12kW, potentially adaptable to bi-directional V2L or V2G. We will have to wait for the launch of the Cybertruck at the end of the month to find out a little more about this original and innovative pick-up.
