La République en Marche is launching a major restructuring this Saturday. Its activists are called upon to decide on the statutes of a new party and the walkers will meet at 8 p.m. at the Carrousel du Louvre for a congress. 2,000 people are expected at this event announced as founding.

The change is now for La République en Marche. This Saturday, from 8 p.m., a major congress will take place at the Carrousel du Louvre where 2,000 people are expected. The presidential party will thus change its name, will officially become Renaissance and will be led by a new head: Stéphane Séjourné. He will replace Stanislas Guerini, delegate general for nearly four years and now Minister of Transformation and Public Service.

MEP, reputed to be very close to Emmanuel Macron, Stéphane Séjourné will become the new strongman of Macronie. His mandate will run until November 2024, i.e. a minimum of two years at the head of Renaissance. He will have to carry out a delicate mission, namely to prepare the post Emmanuel Macron, who will also be the honorary president of this new formation.

2027 already in everyone’s mind

To carry out its refoundation, Renaissance plans to absorb two parties: Territories of Progress, on its left, led by Olivier Dussopt, and Agir, on its right, defended by Franck Riester. On the other hand, neither the Modem of François Bayrou, nor Horizons of Edouard Philippe accepted the deal of a “great political movement of unity and action” envisaged by Emmanuel Macron on the evening of the second round of the presidential election.

The mayors of Pau and Le Havre will however be present at the Carrousel du Louvre this Saturday but will not deliver a speech. At the podium, Elisabeth Borne will be the first to speak at 8 p.m. This congress already intends to pave the way for the presidential election of 2027, already in everyone’s mind. The statutes of Renaissance indeed provide that the party will present a candidate during the next race for the Élysée.
