For once, DLSS 3 is not the main criterion for new drivers for graphics cards NVIDIA.

As usual, and like its two main competitors, NVIDIA deploys new updates for each major video game production. The headliner of the GeForce 537.34 is Mortal Kombat 1… well almost !

No DLSS 3 on Mortal Kombat 1

Indeed, the new fighting game from NetherRealm Studios is due to be released on September 19 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S, but also on PC. NVIDIA did not want to miss the opportunity to talk about it.

On the other hand, we are a little surprised to see that ultimately, only DLSS 2 is being highlighted for this revival of the famous franchise. No DLSS 3, no frame generation for a title which should nevertheless perform quite well on relatively modern PCs.

For DLSS 3, it is ICARUS that we must play. Released at the end of 2021, RocketWerkz’s survival game finally benefits from NVIDIA’s frame generation, which also mentions support for four other games in DLSS 2: Arcadegeddon, Ad Infinitum, Starsiege: Deadzone And Warstride Challenges.

Finally, NVIDIA ends its announcement with the mention of six new G-Sync monitors and the GeForce Experience update with five new titles: Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Immortals of Aveum, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Wayfinder And Starfield.

The reBAR invites itself on Starfield

On this latest game, the back-to-school event title, NVIDIA wants to be more precise by answering a question recently raised: that of support for Resizable BAR, this option which allows the CPU to directly access the video memory without having to pass through the GPU.

On paper, enabling Resizable BAR guarantees better performance. However, there are scenarios, certain games, where the effect is opposite to that which is sought, and NVIDIA therefore activates the option on an ad hoc basis. In the case of Starfieldit was demonstrated that gains could be withdrawn.

NVIDIA has therefore decided, with the driver update, to push support for the Resizable BAR with the over-the-air (OTA) function. This therefore concerns both the new 537.34 drivers and the previous 537.17, for admittedly minor gains (around 5%), but since it is a gift.

To download the GeForce 537.34 (644.31 MB), you can do this from the official NVIDIA website.
