For several years now, the state government has wanted to locate more of its authorities in the districts. A further step was taken on Tuesday with the opening of the state tax office in Tamsweg. The relocation of the authority will result in 25 jobs moving to Lungau in the long term. 15 of them are already occupied. A more than 200-year-old barn was converted for 2.5 million euros. From now on, tourism, hunting rights, nature conservation and fishing taxes, among other things, will be collected there. In total, the country collects more than 50 million euros annually from the taxes.
