New on Netflix: don’t know what to watch this November 1st? This gripping thriller is the perfect choice!

This holiday, are you looking for an entertaining program to stream? Netflix has just released Locked In, a psychological thriller in which you have to be wary of appearances.

This year, November 1 falls on a Wednesday. Perfect for cutting the week in two, taking a breather and above all, having a morning/afternoon/evening at the movies in front of Netflix. If you are neither an animal documentary nor a SF detective drama and you prefer good thrillers, then the new feature of the platform should please you.

Entitled Locked In, this feature film follows Lina, an unhappy young bride who opposes her mother-in-law, Katherine. Following a fleeting affair, she finds herself embroiled in a plot that seems to want to destroy her.

This British production is a sort of stifling behind closed doors which takes place largely in a huge building. As the threads of the plot unravel little by little before our eyes, we understand until the last minute that we should not trust appearances.

Casting-wise, fans of X-Men and Hemlock Grove will be delighted to find Famke Janssen on screen – who plays the matriarch of the family. Rose Williams, more accustomed to period productions like Jane Austen and Reign, is a nice discovery. Series fans will also be served with the presence of Alex Hassell (The Boys) and Finn Cole (Peaky Blinders). Add to that Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies) and you have the only actors appearing in the film.

Without renewing the thriller genre or captivating us, Locked In nonetheless remains an entertaining film that will keep you company on this public holiday.
