Baldur’s Gate 3 celebrates its official release on PS5 with a big big patch. What better way to start than an update that improves the visuals for some players while fixing annoying bugs? In addition, there are little surprises in store for those who love romances. Yes, you will FINALLY be able to indulge in some tough love with one of the least lovable characters in the game. And for good this time!
A new small patch for Baldur’s Gate 3
Larian is not idle, the studio does not take the time to rest and continues the patches with a vengeance. Not so long ago Baldur’s Gate 3 had already received a very big update to improve certain points while fixing a lot of small and medium bugs along the way. Once again, the update corrects several more or less serious plantings, it mainly improves the visual on PS5, but only for HDR users. The latter, a little broken so far, has been corrected. Also note the resolution of a problem that prevented you from taking full advantage of a romance with one of the least nice characters in the game. We won’t spoil, we leave you the choice to go see the patch notes below. below if you want to know everything.
BG3 Patch Notes on PS5 and PC
- Patch Highlights
- Fixed a bug that prevented players from accessing many Minthara lines of dialogue and going deeper into the relationship.
Developer Comments: This patch fixes a bug that blocked access to certain lines of Minthara dialogue, including feedback from your companions about your decision to date the ruthless paladin from Oath of Vengeance. If the approval is high enough, your romance with Minthara will progress in Act 3. This will unlock several new dialogues allowing you to explore and deepen your relationship, and discover more details about Minthara’s history. In addition to the many interactive lines of dialogue, many other non-interactive voice lines are available with Minthara as a romantic partner. Minthara isn’t the only one with new things to say. Other party mates will comment on the relationship and may even end up on the bad side of Minthara (there is no good side, we’ve been looking for it) if they have their own romantic relationships with you. And Minthara won’t stay silent if you walk away from her. ยป

- Fixed being unable to talk to NPCs or party members because the game thought you were still in a dialog.
- Fixed a rare crash that occurred when distant characters approached the party.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when a crime responding guard spawned a summon (e.g. Elemental) and you either ran away from combat or were incapacitated without killing the summon.
- PS5 only

- Fixed graphical issues on HDR TVs when HDR black level calibration was set to 0.

- General performance from Baldur’s Gate 3
- Fixed a memory leak when creating and destroying many objects.
- Multiplayer
- Improved performance when switching between character sheet tabs in splitscreen.
- Fixed split screen not working properly when a client who has already enabled split screen joins a multiplayer game.
- Fixed returned avatars not displaying correctly in the Withers collection if the host is in camp and is already looking inside.
- Fixed characters sometimes disappearing in splitscreen when client reconnects after disconnecting while listening to dialogue.
- Clients who join a multiplayer game in which an avatar has been returned to Withers’ collection will now be able to retrieve that avatar instead of having to create a new one. (This bug occurred when the client left the session and another player selected that client’s avatar in the middle of the return to camp dialog).
- Gameplay

- Joystick control
- Fixed characters getting stuck when the analog stick select setting is set to left stick and you spin the stick in circles until it stops.
