The repair bonus, this financial aid from the State which allows you to repair your electrical or electronic devices without wasting too much money, will be reinforced from 1er January 2024. Clubic lists all the new features, so you don’t miss any information.

Deployed since December 2022, the repair bonus is gradually gaining ground in public opinion, and to further encourage French households to have their electrical or electronic devices repaired rather than replacing them, the State has decided to make some welcome changes to the system from the start of next year. To whet your appetite, the bonus amount will, for example, be doubled for several everyday devices. It will also increase for around twenty others, while 24 new pieces of equipment will also be eligible. Here’s what you need to know.

Which devices are currently eligible for the repair bonus?

The list of products currently covered by the repair bonus is already exhaustive. To date, there are 49 of them, including:

  • smartphones,
  • laptops, tablets, game consoles,
  • vacuum cleaners, steamers, irons, steam generators,
  • toasters, coffee machines,
  • electrically assisted bicycles, electric scooters,
  • washing machines, cookers, freezers, dishwashers, refrigerators, tumble dryers, hobs,
  • cameras, speakers, televisions, video projectors, home cinemas,
  • drills, screwdrivers,
  • musical instruments and more.

Here are the 24 new devices that will benefit from the repair bonus from January 1, 2024

In 2024, the repair bonus welcomes 24 new products, bringing the number of devices covered to 73. Here is the list, with the amount of aid:

  • 50 euros bonus for a desktop computer (with a trigger threshold of 150 euros),
  • 35 euros for printers and scanners,
  • 30 euros for monitors (screens, with trigger threshold set at 100 euros), robots and heating preparers,
  • 25 euros for mobile air conditioners and pastry robots,
  • 20 euros for microwave ovens, steam cleaners and portable power tools,
  • And 15 euros for epilators, straighteners, electric shavers, clippers, hair dryers, free-standing ovens, fryers, multifunction robots, humidifiers, air purifiers, fans and landline telephones.

You already knew this, but when it comes to smartphones, several repairs (battery, microphone, photo lens, speaker) were already supported by the bonus. In 2024, you will be able to add screen breakage to this list, still for the same amount, namely 25 euros.

How much can we claim? The repair bonus will increase for these many products

In 2023, the repair bonus corresponded to a support package of between 10 and 45 euros depending on the product. But from 1er January 2024, it will increase, going from 15 euros minimum to 60 euros maximum.

The laptop, for example, will be better covered by the repair bonus, with assistance increasing from 45 to 50 euros, and a trigger threshold for the latter falling from 180 to 150 euros. So this is rather good news. Here are the 20 other devices which have seen their bonus increased by 5 euros:

  • Increase from 20 to 25 euros for the stove, built-in oven (excluding microwave), hood and hob,
  • Increase from 15 to 20 euros for amplifier, hi-fi system, mixer, home cinema, DVD player, audio video recorder player, tuner/demodulator, drone, screwdriver and drill,
  • And increase from 10 to 15 euros for hand steamers, irons, toasters, kettles, centrifuges and extractors, citrus presses and coffee machines with filters.

5 devices are also affected by the doubling of the bonus in 2024:

  • From 30 to 60 euros for the television,
  • From 25 to 50 euros for the washing machine, dishwasher and dryer, e
  • From 15 to 40 euros for broom, robot and sled vacuum cleaners.

Note also that since November 2023, the repair bonus has been extended to clothing and shoes. If the repair costs at least 12 euros, you can claim 7 or 8 euros in assistance depending on the case. Think about it!

But how do you get the repair bonus?

You will not be able to benefit from the repair bonus everywhere. To avoid disappointment, it is better to check the list of repairers labeled “QualiRépar”, on which you will find craftsmen, independent, industrial or after-sales service (manufacturers and distributors) who apply the assistance well.

One last thing before you free yourself, remember that if the amount including tax of the repair invoice is lower than that of the State bonus, it is possible that you will not be able to benefit from it.
