New Professor Layton game announced for Switch

It was believed that Level-5 would no longer release games outside of Japan, but that’s without counting on the return of a certain Professor Layton on Nintendo Switch. We didn’t see it coming, but the news is likely to please many lovers of puzzles.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam will obviously not be released on Steam

We thought Hershel Layton retired since his daughter Katrielle had taken up the torch on Nintendo Switch with The Layton Adventure: Katrielle and the Millionaire Conspiracy, but it seems that the Japanese studio is going back to basics to bet on a safe bet. We don’t know much about this new opus except a a short cinematic revealing what seems to be a city of London in full industrial revolution hence the name of the game: Professor Layton and the New World of Steam (name only in English at the moment).

An official site has just opened but unfortunately we won’t learn anything more today. What also marks is the absence of his lifelong companion, Luke. Still, we should find a lot of puzzles to accomplish. We’re really looking forward to hearing more. It is also hoped that this will give Level-5 wings to announce the game as well Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road of Heroes.
