New rules for proof of vaccination in France

According to the Ministry of Health, around 560,000 people are at risk of losing their vaccination status. The stricter rules have been in effect for people over 65 since mid-December. The health card complies with the 3G rule and must be shown in France to get into bars or theatres, for example.

In the fight against the fifth wave of corona, the French government wants to provide further incentives for vaccination. She also wanted to adjust the access regulations in mid-January and deny the unvaccinated access to cultural institutions, restaurants and long-distance trains. However, the bill has not yet passed Parliament. After several session breaks in the House of Commons, the passage could be further delayed. The deliberations in both chambers of Parliament ended without a result. The text now has to go back to the National Assembly and Senate before it can finally be passed.
