For all its dominant aesthetics, the BMW XM also wants to be politically correct, which hybridization is supposed to guarantee. The internal name fits: While some of the more recent M projects were named after high-proof spirits, such as “Pyrat”, “Jägermeister” or “Ramazotti”, the developers at XM were encouraged to speak of a “rock star”.
