Just like the CHIP test center, the experts from Stiftung Warentest also regularly examine the new smartwatches on the market. In the 12/2022 issue, the testers chose an unsurprising test winner: the Apple Watch Series 8. It is currently Apple’s latest smartwatch on the market and not only impressed with Stiftung Warentest, but is also our smartwatch test winner (to the smartwatch leaderboard ).
With the overall rating “very good” (grade 1.2), it leads our list of the best smartwatches. This places it ahead of the Galaxy Watch5 Pro in second place and the Apple Watch Series 7 in third place.
At Stiftung Warentest, the Apple Watch Series 8 comes in just short of second place with a grade of 1.6. The Apple Watch SE (around 280 euros at Galaxus) and the Garmin Venu 2 Plus (around 370 euros at Amazon). Both complete the test with a grade of 1.7.
