New World turns down the grind factor to the delight of fans


The February patch for New World will bring even more improvements. An extension of the patch notes promises a renewed reduction in the grind. These changes not only affect the endgame, but also the level phase as well as cost reductions and time savings for all players.

New World: February patch reduces the grind

The New World PTR is currently updated with other changes that will be rolled out live soon. Most of the adjustments aim to reduce the grind throughout the game. Specifically, this means:

  • Cooldown reduction many types of gypsum, which allows you to increase your competence more quickly
  • More Shadow Shards through plaster system and crafting
    • Gypsum grants 100 to 400 Shadow Shards (from 3 to 200)
    • Crafting grants 25 to 100 Shadow Shards (from 1 to 85)
  • Fast travel to cities or shrines now costs fixed 20 Azoththe weight multiplier does not apply
  • Cooldown for Return to Inn is reduced from 60 to 30 minutes
  • From level 10 give quests 50 percent more experience
  • The minimum and maximum tax rate is now between 0.1 and 1 percent
    • To compensate for the overall low tax rate, companies receive the fivefold sum paid off

Due to the many additional changes, a release of the patch on the live servers is not expected this week. The big patches usually come out on a Tuesday or Wednesday, which New World fans should be aware of Expect the February patch on February 22nd or 23rd. New World: February patch is dedicated to bugs and improvements

You can already download the latest patch, the number after 1.4, from the PTR of new world Find. As previously announced, this patch will focus on improving the existing content and will not add new ones. You can read about what happened on the front line in the last patch here:

Get that in February combat system a few important adjustments. Switching weapons is now possible while registering a hit, while dodging, moving, and using consumables. In addition, the evasion animation is shortened, so that you can perform a new action more quickly. Also, up to a point, you can override attacks with a block or dodge. Weapon reworks and faster leveling when crafting

Important changes with patch 1.4:

  • Own chat for trading
  • Arcana, Armorsmith, Weaponsmith, Jeweler and Carpentry require 10 percent less experience
  • Fire Staff: Fireball projectile is now larger and can critically strike
  • Ice Gauntlets: Fixed some application bugs
  • Musket: heavily revised in large parts

Outpost Storm should be worth more

For a victory in PvP mode Outpost Storm there will be in the future 100 Shadow Shards and for a defeat 50. The shards are important for the endgame because you use them to upgrade your equipment. There are faction tokens as a reward for participating, and there is also a chance of receiving a fourth item from the reward chest.

Patch 1.4 can already be found on the PTR. Keep in mind that the patch can still change before it is released, as the developers used the test server to check the changes and adjust them if necessary. A release on the live servers is expected towards the end of next week.
