Samsung has unveiled the first two flagships of its new range of smartphones. Here are the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus.
It’s done ! After several months of rumors, Samsung has lifted the veil on its new flagship, the Galaxy S24. As in previous years, there are three of them: the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus on the one hand, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra on the other hand with a quite different proposition. In this article, we will focus on the presentation of the first two.
Samsung Galaxy S24: a new compact flagship?
The Samsung Galaxy S24 is Samsung’s new high-end smartphone. With its 6.2-inch Infinity-O Dynamic Amoled 2X screen (2340 x 1080 pixels at 1 – 120 Hz adaptive), it is also the most compact in its range. This screen will be brighter and promises to reach 2600 cd/m² peak. It measures 147 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm for 167 grams. The smartphone also evolves in terms of design with the adoption of straight edges, similar to what Apple offers with the iPhone. The screen is also completely flat. It will be offered in many colors: black, silver, indigo, cream, blue, green and orange. The latter three are exclusive to the Samsung Store.

It’s what’s under the hood that’s likely to get people talking. No more Snapdragon chip, here’s Samsung’s Exynos again. The firm integrates a Samsung Exynos 2400 chip into the Galaxy S24 supported by 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128 to 256 GB of storage. Result: the smartphone skips the new Wi-Fi 7 to make do with (excellent) Wi-Fi 6E. The 4000 mAh battery can be recharged at 25W via USB-C wired, or 10 W wirelessly.
On the back of the phone, Samsung has placed three cameras:
- wide angle equivalent 23 mm, 50 Mpx, f/1.8;
- 13mm equivalent ultra wide angle 12MP, f/2.2;
- 69 mm equivalent telephoto lens, 10 Mpx, f/2.4.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 runs Android 14 with OneUI 6.1 and the manufacturer promises 7 years of system updates, as well as security updates.
The release is scheduled for January 31, but pre-orders open today. It is sold from 899 euros for the 128 GB version and 969 euros for the 256 GB version. Samsung is also launching a trade-in offer with a bonus of 50 euros on the purchase of the smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus: a real eye-catcher
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus is a large format version of the Galaxy S24. It offers a 6.7-inch screen with a QHD+ definition of 3120 x 1440 pixels. The Dynamic Amoled 2X screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 promises a brightness of 2600 cd/². The dynamic refresh rate can vary from 1 to 120 Hz. It shares the same rectangular design as the Galaxy S24 with naturally increased dimensions: 158.5 x 75.9 x 7.7 mm for 196 grams.

The smartphone integrates a Samsung Exynos 2400 chip with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a beefier cooling system. Samsung is talking about a 1.6x larger vapor chamber which should help hold the charge better during gaming sessions, on Fortnite For example.

The Galaxy S24 Plus is sold from 1169 euros for the 256 GB version and 1289 euros for the 512 GB version. For all orders from January 17 to 30, Samsung offers to double the internal storage of the smartphone.
