New Year’s Eve for two: Start the new year with enjoyment and reflection
Are you generally a fan of a quiet end to the year? Then a New Year’s Eve for two at home will be easier for you than for many people. Good for you. Dare to look ahead to 2024
Do you know this: Every year the question was “So, what are your New Year’s resolutions?” You usually answer spontaneously and relatively vaguely (and then you usually don’t stick to your intention anyway.) For a short small talk, a superficial answer like “do more sports” may be enough. This year, however, you could use the quiet of New Year’s Eve as a couple to think about it again – in exchange with your counterpart. Be specific and make a plan. At the end you determine the following:
- What exactly do you want to achieve? (Example: Not “exercise more”, but “exercise for 30 minutes at least once a week”)
- By when do you want to have achieved this goal?
- How do you want to make this goal possible?
- How likely (1 to 10) is it that you will achieve your goal in the specified time using the specified actions? (If you don’t get at least an 8 or 9, go back and set a smaller goal.)
Write down the answers to the questions mentioned and hang the piece of paper in a clearly visible place so that it regularly reminds you of your goal. Maybe you can add a motivating saying or the reason why you want to achieve this goal to your notes. Maybe this will make it easier for you to put your resolution into action so that you can report it successfully next year.
Tip: So-called bullet journals help many people Success Journals in implementing their goals. For example, if you set a goal for the whole year, you need to have some perseverance. This way you can keep an eye on your partial successes and refocus and motivate yourself day after day, week after week.
Game, set and victory for New Year’s Eve for two
If you and your New Year’s Eve companion share an enthusiasm for board games, then this New Year’s Eve for two is the ideal time to live out your gaming instinct. Whether classics like Trickle, Chess or backgammon, which you can play wonderfully as a couple, things can get a little wilder after a glass of champagne, right? How about a game of Twister, for example? You may remember the game from your childhood. But who says you can’t play it as an adult?! Impress the other person with your flexibility or laugh together about the lack of that flexibility.
Various game consoles and suitable games for two people can also easily provide the best entertainment. If you spend New Year’s Eve as a couple, you’ll only have to blame one person for your bad behavior the next day “Singing Star” apologize or repent for supporting them so shamelessly “Mario Kart” have defeated.

A safe and equally effective alternative – not just for your New Year’s Eve for two this year – is wax casting. You can also easily make your own wax set from leftover old candles, which you first heat in a water bath and remove old wicks. The wax casting itself is then carried out in the same way as lead casting used to be.
